Hi Jane

What a huge amount of information!   It will take some time to look at everything but maybe I should have called in here before I did the sunset challenge.  The lessons are clear and I will recommend this to another friend who is just starting watercolour.  Well done

Dear Jag

I would like to say how helpful your instructions have been. I found your web page by accident and I am glad I did. I have just started to paint and your way of helping beginners is great. The web page is brilliant and well set out with a mine of information. Congratulations and I hope my still life looks something like yours when I finish it.

The following entries are from the old site and often relate to the lessons I had posted there. These lessons have now been upgraded and are to be published on my cd soon. I hope they will assure you of my teaching qualities.

Dear Jane

I have just found your website and I am bookmarking it for the future.

I think that you have got a very interesting site but I have one major niggle, and that is the gallery of  scrolling effects that you use.  Believe me, they do not enhance the viewing experience at all, but just get in the way of easy navigation.  They really try ones patience when we are eager to see your gallery as quickly as possible.

Please do not take this criticism amiss.  I am sure that you put a lot of effort into producing the site, but believe me , the fancy effects only get in the way of the good stuff you have got.

I don't think that I am alone in thinking this, but perhaps your other viewers are too polite to mention it.  Once more, please accept this  as well-meant criticism which is meant to be helpful.

Best Regards

Norman Richards

Point taken Norman and Colin plus anyone else who has mentioned it. I have not used page transmissions in my new design and sincerely hope this enhances the viewing pleasure for all. Do let me know how you feel about the new design and especially if pages are still slow to load. I'm not computer literate but will do my best to rectify things.

Jane, compliments and praises on a wonderful website - how do you find the time to paint, write about it and maintain the site ? Your lessons , tips and links are excellent for a beginning water- colourist like me . One slight criticism, I have broadband access and your pages whilst inventive and unusual do take a long time to load - must take ages without broadband.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Jane!

Just been jotting down some of your tips.  They were extremely helpful.  Wonderful website!  I have got quite a few books on painting but i've learned more from your website than I have from any book.
Thank you for inspiring me to paint.Right-click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy, Outlook prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet.

Hi Jane,

This is the second time I visit your site and now I could spend more time and see many of your paintings. It was great to see how you improved since your first start, and that gives me the hope that I will be able to do the same if I work hard. Thanks for your generosity and the way you explain things step by step in a very easy way.It also touched me a lot the way you treasure your friends and the tribute for Mary.
There are so many paintings I'd like to keep for myself -  99 red baloons, Cottages, Red boat, Still life fruit, just to tell some.I'll print some lessons too. Thanks for the site.

Kind regards,

Hello Jane , I am amazed with your watercolour paintings , the landscapes , the still life are wel done and my favourite of them are  Stone Henge , the halloween picture and the cats. It's incredible what  you can do with watercolours, I like the way you mix the colours and the texture is great. My sister in law geve me for my birthday a nice set of watercolours and I'm going to use them soon for the first time. You are an inspiration for me and i really enjoyed  my visit to your web.I like all your works even the ones you said are awful, sorry, but my point of view are excellent for someone who just started and you are very nice sharing your techniques.
I'm wishing you the best luck

Hello Jane,

Spent an enjoyable hour on your web page, but will have to return to view it all. You are very 'readable', and you are very generous with your tips and lessons.
Particularly liked your still life paintings and cat portraits.

Hello, Jane.

I got to your site eventually, and spent a few minutes last night looking at your

paintings and today, reading through the lesson on Gum Arabic. I can't see why Colin

Bourke laughed - I'm impressed! This must have taken hours of work to achieve, and a

lot of openness and honesty shines through as you put up your thoughts, feelings and

failures to help others.

Your latest work (Painters Online) is way beyond what you have on your site - maybe

not technically, but emotionally. What you wrote in your intro confirms how I felt

about that work. I pray that you will continue to grow into your new healing, and

that when difficulties come, you will have the help and support you need to see you

through. Meanwhile, I wish you continued health and the joy of living - and Happy

Painting!

Hello Jane,

You probably remember that we've typed to each other before.
Well, this time it's to send you my thanks for including a write up about my Interactive Watercolour CD.
My web stats showed that someone had visited my site from the review page on your site.
I've put a link to your site from www.paintdoodles.com in the link partners section using a thumbnail of one of your paintings.
On your site you ask for links to free lessons. There are some of my own at www.petersaw.co.uk
It looks like you've put a lot of hard work into your site. It was a pleasure to visit it.
Thanks once again. I truly appreciate the review.

Regards,
Peter

DEAR JAG,
I VERY MUCH ENJOYED YOUR SITE, AND YOUR ENTHUSIASM, IT WAS VERY CONTAGIOUS, AND BROUGHT BACK MANY FOND MEMORIES OF MY OWN.
I USED TO DO A LOT OF ART WORK ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO, HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY OF LATE, BUT EXERCISE MY CREATIVE SPIRIT AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE. HAVE RECENTLY BEEN EXCHANGING SOME TALK WITH AN OLD COLLEGE FRIEND OF MANY YEARS NOW, AND SHE SAID TO CHECK OUT THE WATER COLOR SITES, AND JUST SEE IF IT WOULD GET ME TO GET MY PAINT BRUSHES OUT AGAIN. YOUR SITE WAS VERY INSPIRING, AND VERY FRIENDLY. I FOUND IT COMFORTABLE, AND ENCOURAGING. I HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO WORK IT, IT WILL DO A LOT OF PEOPLE A LOT OF GOOD, AND INSPIRE MANY BEAUTIFUL THINGS FOR THIS PLANET TO ENJOY.
I COULD SEE YOUR PROGRESS, AND SEE WHY YOU WERE ENCOURAGED TO KEEP GOING, YOU MADE SOME VERY NICE UPGRADES IN YOUR WORK. YOU ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO THE SPIRIT OF ALL YOUR SUBJECT AREAS, AND THEY SHOW YOUR DILIGENCE, AND DESIRE TO CREATE THE FUN AND WONDER YOU SEE. I LOVED YOUR 'KITTIES'.
I WISH YOU THE BEST, AND CONTINUED DESIRE TO DO YOUR WONDERFUL THING. MUCH LUCK TO YOU IN THE FUTURE, AND KEEP WORKING, YOU'LL BE VERY GLAD YOU DID.

Jane,

Having wanted to take up watercolour since 1995 and only having started this Winter at classes, I have scoured the net to find supporting lessons. Yours are lovely - simple, down-to-earth, within the reach of anyone. I am about to use them as a support to my teacher, who I must add is wonderful - she also presents the subject in simple terms that all students are easily able to follow.

I look forward to seeing more of your lessons in future.

Thanks for your wonderful site.  I haven't been at this very long and what you've done helps me a lot.  I've done decent paintings and mixed paints--wasting a lot of paint.  I haven't really known why the paintings aren't too bad.  Your "class" is wonderful.  Helen Chandler

Dear Jane,

I visited your site and was much impressed with the manner of your lessons.

They are well thought out and follow each other logically and clearly. You

must be an excellent teacher.

Great!
