moving on

Time to develop your own style

Having learnt the techniques and conventions in this publication it is time to move on, develop your skills and find your own personal style. Try to do a little everyday as you may find yourself getting a little rusty.

There are links on another page to artists working in watercolour from all over the world. Take a tour and see the different styles, check how regions of the world have different tastes as regarding the colours they use. Maybe you would like to paint only landscapes or animals?

Your next steps are very much up to you.

Take a trip to the library or bookshop and look for books by artists you admire and learn a little more from them. As you learn from different artists a little of something from each one will filter into your work. In time your work will become recognisable as your own, and your style will have begun to establish itself.
